WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Bob Corker, R-Tenn., made the following comment today after voting “no” on a procedural vote to end debate on the Transportation and Housing and Urban Development (THUD) spending bill, which sets a level of spending that ignores the caps set by the bipartisan Budget Control Act passed by Congress in August 2011.
“We made a commitment when we passed the Budget Control Act to make an effort to start living within our means, so I’m disappointed this bill breaks that promise and kicks off the appropriations process in exactly the wrong way,” said Corker.
