Senator John Cornyn Press Release:
If IRS Chief Doesn’t Want Obamacare, He Shouldn’t Be Enforcing It Either
Jul 30 2013
WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) today called on IRS Chief Daniel Werfel to endorse his legislation blocking the IRS from enforcing Obamacare after he testified that he does not want to switch to the President’s health care law:
“Count the head of the IRS among the growing list of folks that includes Big Labor and the law’s chief architect who are deeply skeptical of the President’s signature achievement and don’t want any part of it.
“No American – even the head of the IRS – should be subjected to Obamacare. The wheels are coming off this monstrosity before our very eyes, and we must fully defund, repeal, and replace it before it collapses under its own weight.”
Sen. Cornyn has introduced the “Keep the IRS Off Your Health Care Act of 2013,” which would prohibit the Secretary of the Treasury, or any delegate, including the IRS, from enforcing Obamacare.
